Arranging an Astrology Consultion
Planetary Calendar customers who read and watch our forecasts often ask if we consult? Truthfully, it would be hard to be professional astrologers and not work with clients, because it is by seeing how their lives, through their charts, are affected by the transiting planets, that we gain perspective about humanity’s evolution. We began consulting in 1972 and fortunately for Astrologers, experience matters, because personally experiencing so many transits, alongside our clients, brings us a deeper understanding of the Planets, Signs, Aspects and Stars.
It is much easier to counsel someone experiencing a tumultuous Uranus opposition when you have helped other clients navigate that hailstorm, plus having your own memories of that Kundalini energy trying to blow the top of your head off! Even the often-dreaded Saturn return, at age 28, that was once considered the sign of ‘a ripe old age’, is easier to understand from a distance, especially after you have gone through your own second Saturn Return. When we combined our practice in 1994, we began consulting as a team. While this might be a less efficient use of our time, we have worked that way for twenty plus years because we find each other’s ideas and perspective illuminating. Being able to hear another astrologer’s counsel makes us better at what we do.
Why? Because we all see others through the filter of our life experiences. To minimize that consulting astrologers work at transcending their own charts, seeking to remove any preconceptions that might obscure our understanding. We do that by extensively studying our own charts, on the very human quest for self-knowledge, so we can make it a more transparent lens. While you never fully lose your point of view, interacting with another astrologer over a client’s chart pulls you beyond yourself, so you attain a clearer view of the client’s life patterns.
Working as a team also takes the pressure off because we know that if something is puzzling to us, our partner most likely has the key to unlocking that conundrum. Once that door of understanding is open, it inspires us to further insights. We are offering you this peek at how we work because it is very different from most astrologers’ approach, but it works for us and delights our clients.
While much of an astrology consultation is about providing analysis, perspective and timing, we bring some additional tools and ‘specialties’ to our practice. We adore Location Astrology, whether it is Astro*Carto*Graphy, Location Charts or Geomancy. We have written a great deal on these subjects and our approach is super effective. This part of astrology connects to our work in Feng Shui, about which we have written a series of books and spoken and consulted on internationally. We especially like this approach because it offers actions that clients can take immediately to change the energy in their life and their surroundings while waiting out a pesky transit.
Another tool is our work in health astrology. We prefer that term to medical astrology because we view a person’s chart as a picture of a healthy person. It shows what they need in their environment, their family life and their nutrition to thrive. Their transits show how their wellbeing is being subjected to transitory pressure, so it can tell us where they need to focus attention to maintain balance. While we are also professional herbalists and Naturopathic Physicians, we primarily focus these skills on our Astrology and Feng Shui practices.
But even with these ‘specialties’, our practice is wide-ranging, addressing the same issues of ‘love and money’ that we all periodically have questions about. If you would like to consult with us, we work over the phone and via video conference (Zoom) and we record the consultation for your convenience. We find the recording is especially helpful because with two astrologers conveying double the information, clients normally find helpful material in their review that they missed during the live interview. Zoom has Transformed Our Practice! We have been consulting as a team in person and remotely for more than twenty five years. We both had private practices for many years before that. Not surprisingly our clients are located all over the USA and around the world. Previously working over the phone was effective, but not satisfying, compared to working in person with our client. When we can see our client, their expression and body language tells us whether what we are saying is making sense. Now that so many people are comfortable with virtual meetings our consultations are so much more effective. This is expecially effective for Feng Shui consultations where people can show us their spaces in real time.

We are based in Napa Valley California, in Pacific Time. Beause our time is heavily committed, we normally do not pick up the phone, but we frequently check the messages. We work regular business hours, 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, Pacific time. Although we do consult on the weekends if that is what the client requires. For astrological, Feng Shui and Herbal consulting we need the birth date and place, and time as close as possible. Please include that in your message, or in a following email. Some Helpful Ideas Before Your Consultation
We consult on the timing of events, Solar Returns, strategic planning, personalities, interpersonal relationships, relocation and health. We practice a very modern, Astrology-based version of Feng Shui, and a very practical approach to Herbal Health. Our fee is $200.00 for a 1-hour consultation which is recorded. We do not charge for prep time.
We would like to have your questions in advance so that we can determine which charts we need to work with. For example, we would not focus on the global lines if what you are really considering is a choice between two job opportunities, lets say, one in Texas and one in Florida. Maybe you don't want to relocate and rather bring supportive energy from a line to your current location, etc. It is nice to know where your good lines are but if you have no possibility of relocating to Tibet, it would be nice to be able to tap into that energy in some way. Additionally we can help to validate your current experience of living on a particular line, supportive or problematic. All this to say that we are guided in our consultation by the issues or concerns that the client is interested in understanding or improving.
